Day #6
At sea. Nothing real exciting here. Mostly laying and reading at the pool and eating. Did get a 9 mile run in. Much easier to get enough calories in here.
Day #7
Turkey. My father had complained initially "why do we have to go to turkey?" I had told him he could stay on the ship but he decided to come along. First stop was Ephesus and ruins that are being actively excavated. Was really beautiful with the mountains behind the ruins. Then went to a little village called Sirence and walked around the town a bit. Stopped for a wine tasting, was actually different fruit wines including peach, melon, blackberry. The peach was really good. Then stopped at a restaurant on the mountainside for lunch. Had salad, a flat bread filled with feta and spinach, bread with yogurt sauce, and then kefta meatballs in a tomato sauce. Not as good as the ones I've had in morocco but pretty good. Then finally back towards the ship. We saw a sign for Starbucks and for the first time in our lives were actually excited for Starbucks coffee. The coffee on the boat just sucks, and after Malta and what I told my dad of Turkish coffee he decided to stick with Starbucks.
Mike, tell dad Hi. Hows he doin?

He's doing fine, having a great time. Despite having all day yesterday resting on the cruise ship he felt a little wiped today (day #10). He wants to move here (for at least the summers).....I think he's all talk though!
